In the tradition of the last two years (see Top-Ten 2009, Top-Ten 2010), i’m attempting to round up my top-10 favorite images that were published during the year. This year was dominated by travel photos from Belgium and France, and then New Zealand.
THE PHOTO: Last of the shots I took of the Atomium from Brussels, this one being a more conventional view as opposed to the more stylized ones I’ve presented before. POST PROCESSING: Rotate, Sharpen, Crop, Curves. EXIF: Aperture: ƒ/5.6 Camera: NIKON D700 Taken: 3 May, 2011 Exposure bias: -2/6EV Focal length: 200mm ISO: 125 Shutter […]

POST PROCESSING: Rotate, crop, levels, monochrome, tint, sharpen. EXIF: Aperture: ƒ/3.8 Camera: NIKON D700 Taken: 3 […]

POST PROCESSING: Crop, sharpen, and then several Tiffen Dfx filters – vignette, pro black-mist, flashing and enhancing. EXIF: Aperture: ƒ/5.3 Camera: NIKON D700 Taken: […]

This reminded me of the Independence Day scenes where the Air Force took on the […]
THE PHOTO: Close-up view of the monstrous Atomium in Brussels. I didn’t think I’d like this modern structure, but it so dominates the northern space around the Laeken Park and Expo center area that it’s hard not to appreciate. There will be several other shots featuring this landmark to come. POST PROCESSING: Lightroom auto contrast, […]
