David and Goliath

David and Goliath

THE PHOTO:
Another shot from the Atomium in Brussels, Belgium – featured here before – this time showing a pseudo-forced-perspective shot of one of the many planes crisscrossing the European sky with one of the “atoms” in the foreground. This reminded me of the Independence Day scenes where the Air Force took on the Mothership.

POST-PROCESSING:
While the original stark blue sky was appealing, so shift the shot from a normal ‘plane in the background’ type, I tried a monochrome with a tint to try to tie the subjects into the same plane (no pun intended). Adding sharpness, blur (for banding) and vignette.

    EXIF:

  • Aperture: ƒ/5.6
  • Camera: NIKON D700
  • Taken: 3 May, 2011
  • Exposure bias: -2/6EV
  • Focal length: 200mm
  • ISO: 160
  • Shutter speed: 1/200s
