THE PHOTO:
I had to research what these were when writing this post – turns out they were battlement wall turrets – making up part of the Wenceslas Wall which was part of fortified Luxembourg. There were numerous occasions like this where I was stumbling around ancient parts of cities in Luxembourg and Italy without knowing what I was standing on – for that, I feel rather foolish.
