Dalian Coastline
THE PHOTO:
Sadly, during the two weeks I spent in the north China city of Dalian, the weather was less than ideal for outdoor photography, with it being foggy/smoggy or cloudy almost the whole time.
On one of the few occasions when I got out with the camera, I happened to take this shot looking back along the famed Binhai Road.
POST-PROCESSING:
3 exposure HDR composite – merged and tone-mapped in Photomatix. Photoshop treatments include (but not limited to) shadow/highlight, levels/curves, dodge/burn, color balance, USM.
A good indication of what I had to work with can be seen from the middle of the three exposures:
- Aperture: ƒ/4
- Camera: NIKON D2X
- Focal length: 12mm
- ISO: 100
