Garden Spires

THE PHOTO:
Happy New Year!

I’m looking forward to 2009. One of the things that I hope to achieve is to continue to capture shots that improve my photography.

This shot, one a stunning blue-sky day was taken from the Queen Victoria Gardens, just north of the Royal Botanic Gardens on the southern side of Melbourne, looking towards Southbank and the imposing Eureka Tower.

POST-PROCESSING:
Bugger all – crop, sharpen.

This shot is the first time I have tried saving the files a Progressive JPEG, rather than Standard. I have tried this for images over 200kb, as it’s been proven that Progressive JPEGs “seem” faster to load than Standard or Optimized. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    EXIF:

  • Aperture: ƒ/3.8
  • Camera: NIKON D2X
  • Taken: 21 December, 2008
  • Exposure bias: -2/6EV
  • Focal length: 22mm
