Glum Chums

Glum Chums

THE PHOTO:
Two cherubs staring across their empty urn. This was taken in the gardens of Chateau Versailles, Paris – and seemed to be a common(ish) urn/planter around the palaces that we saw.

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of my Mother’s passing, and this particular shot seemed relatively apt, given my brother and I are melancholically represented here, looking at this now-empty vessel – where once flourished such life, with the blurred angelic apparition (a statuette in the background) reminding us of who once was.

POST-PROCESSING:
Crop, cloning-out of distracting background, levels, sharpen, shadow/highlight.
