Gollum

THE PHOTO:
My statuette of Gollum from Lord of the Rings. After missing a day yesterday from having no new material, I decided to try some “studio” or “set-up” type shots. I think I will try and do more as the winter colors and lighting is less than conducive to my normal fare. This was lit using a reading lamp from the top, using a black cloth as the backdrop.

POST-PROCESSING:
The effect here (which I hope isn’t too dark for most monitors) is a moonlight effect, as in the movie Gollum is lit by moonlight in the cave from which this statuette is modeled. For this I used the ‘Day for Night’ filter by DigitalFilmTools.
