Lined Up

Lined Up

THE PHOTO:
Alex R lining up a shot at the Royston Pub. Not the best shot, I had just swapped the Tokina 12-24mm for the 50mm and still had ISO at 800, the 50mm being f1.8 is much faster so the shot was over exposed and the focus spot was off, that and this was almost a hip shot without looking through the viewfinder.

POST-PROCESSING:
Grain the size of golf (pool?) balls – a discussion I was having yesterday was still in my mind when I started processing this shot, and the fact that the high ISO had already introduced some noise made it easier. This has had recovery and sharpening in RAW pre-processing, USM, Duplicate layer blended in Overlay mode after Gaussian Blur at 50%, Crop and Rotate and finished with a Vignette.

    EXIF:

  • Aperture: ƒ/1.8
  • Camera: NIKON D2X
  • Taken: 24 July, 2008
  • Focal length: 50mm
  • ISO: 800
  • Shutter speed: 1/60s
