Not to be confused with the Royal Palace of Brussels, this is the Royal Castle of Laeken… in Brussels. Taken during an unplanned wander around the greater Parc de Laeken, and discovering the amazing Greenhouses adjacent.

As with most shots – I try a black and white treatment to see if it suits – normally by ensuring the subject is the focus of the image, rather than have other elements such as color dominate. I felt that compared to the color version, this shot suited B&W as it evened out the sky (which was a dominant blue) and gave a semi-IR effect to the trees.
