Remembering Summer

THE PHOTO:
Yes, well, if you are following along it is now almost 7pm when I am posting this shot rather than the normal 7am posting time. This is a small flower that I took a photo of in February when the weather was much warmer than it is now.

THE LENS:
Sigma 150mm f/2.8 EX APO Macro EX DG HSM

POST-PROCESSING:
Ok, a bit of a long story…This is the first shot I have exclusively processed on the new laptop. Unfortunately my version of Aperture isn’t a Universal Binary so I will have to use Adobe’s Lightroom until the update arrives. Running in dual-screen on the 20″ Cinema Display is a real treat. However configuring Photoshop CS2 (in TIFF only thanks to Lightroom) to work the same as I had it on the PC is a bit trickier, especially without the likes of Velvia Vision, Neat Image and 55mm Filters. Also I had the tedious task of re-recording the copyright action. I have a LOT of learning and configuring to go!

So the PP went something like this: Crop, Sharpen, Curves, Color Balance, Noise Reduction.

OTHER:
Updates for the next week or so may run equally as late for the same reasons as outlined…

    EXIF:

  • Aperture: ƒ/2.8
  • Camera: NIKON D2X
  • Taken: 24 February, 2006
  • Focal length: 150mm

  • Shutter speed: 1/800s
